New Minority Group: British Nudists (8/22/09)

Our old friend Harriet Harman has taken up a new cause: defending the civil liberties of "naturists," as the British call nudists. This Times of London article quotes Andrew Welch, commercial manager of British Naturism, as saying, "The presumption of many in society that a person without clothes is always up to no good is archaic and discriminatory."

And he's absolutely right, you know. The distinction between acceptable and illicit nudity is a simple one, though perhaps not widely known: If you're naked, you aren't wearing any clothes. If you're nekkid, you aren't wearing any clothes, and you're up to something.

Apparently naturists are merely naked.
